WHAT IS PAPTIC?

Paptic Ltd was founded in 2015 to address one of the most significant global environmental challenges, plastic waste accumulation in the environment. Our new kind of wood-based material challenges plastic, traditional paper, and textiles by combining their best sides.

Our customers, brands, retailers, and converters are in urge to find new packaging materials that can replace plastic in various packaging applications. Paptic® materials are used in e.g., flexible packaging, shopping bags, and e-commerce mailers. For example, Stockmann, Sokos, COS, and Verkkokauppa.com are using Paptic® materials in their packaging.

We grow rapidly, and our materials have already been delivered to over 50 countries. Our home base is in Otaniemi, Espoo and currently, we are altogether over 30.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

HR is responsible for developing and leading human resources function and leadership practices and guidelines in Paptic in alignment with the company`s strategy to ensure competent and committed personnel.  

We are now looking for a Head of People to strengthen our team’s competencies and take part in driving and implementing our HR agenda and developing it further.

You will play a key role in building Paptic’s successful future in this versatile position. You will be actively involved in recruiting new Paptic colleagues and in developing our employer value proposition further. The head of People will work closely with all functions, line managers, and the management team. The position holder will especially be having overall responsibility for Paptic`s HR function, covering all HR aspects from a strategic and operative point of view. In addition, the position holder will play a key role in supporting management and line managers in the company`s growth path through successful HR processes. The position holder will also get to participate in internal and external development projects with a strong HR contribution.

The position holder will report to our Chief Strategy Officer Esa Torniainen. The position is permanent and located in Otaniemi, Espoo, Finland. Hybrid work is possible. The amount of travel days remains at a reasonable level.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

You’ll

  • Be responsible for developing and leading Paptic`s HR function
  • Be responsible for HR strategy and resource planning together with the company`s management team
  • Be responsible for legal and collective bargaining agreement-related HR aspects and procedures
  • Develop and implement common HR policies and processes and efficient HR and payroll systems
  • Develop and implement the talent acquisition and recruitment processes
  • Be responsible for international recruitment and international employment relationship management
  • Develop and implement performance management, talent management, and competence development practices in cooperation with the company`s management team
  • Promote work well-being together with line managers and external health care service providers
  • Support, coach and educate line managers in human resources and leadership-related matters
  • Cooperate with relevant HR partners, e.g., payroll, insurance companies, and occupational healthcare
  • Be responsible for HR communication and Paptic values implementation
  • Run independently and actively specific HR projects
  • Work with colleagues from different Paptic functions depending on the topic
  • Participate in company-wide projects with strong HR contributions and know-how.

    what helps you to succeed:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Human Resources, Economics, Social Sciences, or Education Sciences.
    • Experience in generalist HR positions (appr. 8 – 12 years), especially in growth company`s HR
    • Experience, ability, and willingness to actively work both as a strategic and operational HR partner
    • Sound knowledge and experience in HR legal and collective bargaining agreement matters
    • Experience in recruitment and developing an employer value proposition
    • Experience in international recruitment and international employment relationship management
    • Strong communications and cooperation skills
    • Proven ability to plan, drive and execute tasks independently and at the same time in cooperation with colleagues
    • Upright and honest attitude
    • Continuous improvement and result-oriented mindset
    • Good project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
    • Internal motivation to pay attention to details and accuracy of facts and figures
    • Tolerance to work under pressure occasionally while appreciating work-life balance
    • Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English (written and spoken).
