A ScanStar – packaging competition 2026 win for Paptic Ltd!
Espoo, Finland 17.9.2026 – A fibre-based foldable shopping bag made from Paptic® has been awarded for its innovative design and unique foldability. The bag folds into a compact form, making it easy to store and carry along for reuse, a functionality enabled by the unique properties of Paptic® material.
The ScanStar jury highlighted the bag’s unique foldability, something that isn’t possible with a conventional paper bag. They also praised Paptic® as a “lovely material” and recognised how the compact format makes the bag easy to carry, store and reuse in everyday life.
The award recognises packaging solutions that combine innovation, functionality and sustainability, highlighting the bag’s unique ability to fold into a compact format while maintaining strength, durability and an excellent user experience.
The award-winning design reflects Paptic’s mission to develop renewable packaging solutions that offer the functionality consumers expect. By combining reusability, foldability and recyclability in one solution, the bag demonstrates how material innovation can help reduce reliance on traditional plastic-based alternatives while making sustainable choices easier for consumers.
ScanStar, organised by the Scandinavian Packaging Association (SPA), is the leading packaging competition in the Nordic region and recognises outstanding packaging innovations. Winning a ScanStar award highlights the value of solutions that combine technical performance, user convenience and responsible material choices.
The foldable shopping bag joins a growing list of award-winning Paptic® packaging innovations. Previous ScanStar-recognised solutions have included Paptic Tringa® e-commerce packaging, a recyclable vegetable pouch and a fibre-based hygiene packaging solution, demonstrating Paptic’s continued commitment to advancing sustainable packaging design.
