Pomar chose Paptic® – A Finnish packaging material innovation for a more sustainable future

Finnish footwear brand Pomar is taking a responsible approach to packaging, selecting materials like Paptic® for their premium quality, reusability, and lower environmental impact. Going forward, Pomar’s packaging will primarily use wood-based materials. Both their shoe box and reusable Paptic® mailer are recyclable in existing paperboard streams, making disposal simple for consumers.
The new mailers have been produced in collaboration with Jonsac AB, a partner known for its expertise in sustainable packaging applications.
“This year marks Pomar’s 65th anniversary, a milestone that reflects both our heritage and our constant drive for innovation. At Pomar, responsibility is at the heart of what we do. As a Finnish family company, it was important for us to choose a material that embodies both innovation and responsibility, while also having local roots. Paptic is a Finnish invention that offers an excellent balance of durability and reusability. Our webshop customers can use the bags again, whether for returning or for storing their shoes. By choosing Paptic, we are taking steps toward a more eco-conscious future and supporting a material that represents the kind of forward-looking design Finland is known for,” says Juha Latvala, CEO of Pomarfin Oy.
“We are proud to support Pomar in this transition. Paptic® materials combine premium look and feel with practicality and recyclability, which makes them a perfect match for e-commerce mailers,” comments Christian Skoglund, Vice President of Global Sales & Export at Jonsac AB.
“At Paptic, our mission is to help brands replace plastics with renewable, recyclable alternatives. Pomar’s decision to use Paptic® in their mailers is a great example of how sustainability, product protection, and brand image can go hand in hand,” says Eeva Liski, Sales Manager at Paptic.
